Call for Submissions

Call for Submissions:

Our first anthology,
is looking for your voices to be added!

Rules for Submission:

  1. Submissions can be poetry, prose, short stories, fictional stories, and autobiographical stories.  If you are unsure about your submission, please email us.
  2. Submissions need to be in Word compatible formats (.rtf, .doc, .docx).
  3. Submissions need to be edited both for content and for grammar/spelling.  Your submission will be published as is.
  4. Submissions MUST be your own original material.  If you have previously published it online (RedBubble, Deviantart, etc), you need to let us know and under what username it is featured.  We will run internet searches on sections of each piece to verify authenticity.
  5. Submissions cannot attack or objectify other groups.  You may approach topics of transphobia, frustration, change, etc, but we ask that you not have pieces that directly attack others.
  6. There is no content rating restriction, therefore please let us know what rating your piece is.  Email for more information if you are unsure.
  7. When you submit, please include your name you would like credited, any website you’d like listed with your name (deviantart, etc), your location, and your position in our community if you want.  This last is not required, but if you would like to indicate if you are trans, gay, non-binary, or an ally, this is where you can let the readers know.  It is up to you how much information we print in the byline, but let’s limit it to no more than three hundred characters!
  8. Your payment for submissions will be a free copy of the anthology.  Please note that the anthologies will be available for bulk purchase at a discounted rate if you want to sell them on your own.  All proceeds from sales of the anthologies by Ashes of Reality will go to funding business expenses.
  9. Your submission can be used elsewhere and you will retain full rights to it.  Ashes of Reality only retains rights to the anthology as a whole.
  10. Please have submissions in by June 1st, 2018.  We’re looking at a possible early Winter release if all goes well.
